The Photographer

I photograph light.
You are what it finds.

Brian Munroe

I've been photographing people, and the places they take me, for thirty years, always for the love of it. I paint as well, and the two crafts are the same study: light and shadow, shape and color, and the exact moment a frame becomes inevitable.

Boudoir began at home. For more than a decade I've photographed one woman, my wife, in every register this studio offers, from silk to fine-art nude. That is a long education in the only thing this work truly requires: a woman who feels safe enough to be seen. The rest is technique.

Along the way came commissioned work, including for an independent creator whose images were her livelihood online. When photographs have to be honest, beautiful, and hers, every frame matters. That standard came home with me.

The images are the artifact. The session itself is the thing. The room is private, the pace is unhurried, and what we make together is yours.
